We had quite a rough day today. The weather was nasty. My mood was nasty when the crescent rolls I was going to take to my mom turned out like rocks. We were late getting the kids to the neighbors for a playdate, so Adam and I could go to the temple for a ward assignment. We didn't speed, and the light at the intersection turned from red to green and so we drove on through... A lady in a Volkswagon Passat made a left turn right into us. Luckily Adam slammed on the brakes and swerved to the right and their front fender hit the driver side door and scratched all the way back and popped the back tire.
We weren't hurt and the other driver wasn't hurt. The other car wasn't very hurt, just the front section that scratched along our car. The guy who was in the left lane next to us, saw her in time to stop before he got hit too, and stayed with us to witness to the cop what happened, thank goodness. So we called the cops, they gave her a ticket, we got her insurance stuff, the cop helped put on the doughnut, and off we went to the temple. Better late than never, right?
I guess I learned the lesson that: the Lord will protect you when you do his work, and that blessing my husband with quick thinking and reflexes saved the left half of his body, which means a lot more to me than hard rolls!
